Two Men Formally Indicted for Inmate Homicide of Former Lostprophets Frontman Ian Watkins

A pair of suspects stand accused of murder following the incarceration fatality of former Lostprophets singer and convicted child sex offender Ian Watkins.

The two men, Rashid Gedel (25) and Samuel Dodsworth (43) now face murder accusations and are set to face Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, according to law enforcement officials.

Watkins, forty-eight, was serving a 29-year sentence at HMP Wakefield, alongside six more years under supervision, after pleading guilty to multiple sexual crimes among them the effort to sexually assault an infant.

Watkins was apprehended subsequent to a narcotics search warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a large number of computers, mobile phones and storage devices were seized.
